Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the man whom Moses wrote about in his teachings and whom the prophets wrote about. He is Jesus, son of Joseph, from the city of Nazareth.”

Through your descendant all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”

So the Lord himself will give you this sign: A virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and she will name him Immanuel [God Is With Us].

A child will be born for us. A son will be given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. He will be named: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

You, Bethlehem Ephrathah, are too small to be included among Judah’s cities. Yet, from you Israel’s future ruler will come for me. His origins go back to the distant past, to days long ago.

Then say to him, ‘This is what the Lord of Armies says: Here is the man whose name is Branch. He will branch out from where he is, and he will rebuild the Lord’s temple.

Rejoice with all your heart, people of Zion! Shout in triumph, people of Jerusalem! Look! Your King is coming to you: He is righteous and victorious. He is humble and rides on a donkey, on a colt, a young pack animal.

and made his home in a city called Nazareth. So what the prophets had said came true: “He will be called a Nazarene.”

The crowd answered, “This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee.”

saw Peter warming himself. She looked at him and said, “You, too, were with Jesus from Nazareth!”

Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” So they took offense at him.

The people told him that Jesus from Nazareth was passing by.

So Joseph went from Nazareth, a city in Galilee, to a Judean city called Bethlehem. Joseph, a descendant of King David, went to Bethlehem because David had been born there.

When his parents saw him, they were shocked. His mother asked him, “Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been worried sick looking for you!”

Then he began with Moses’ Teachings and the Prophets to explain to them what was said about him throughout the Scriptures.

Then he said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you. I told you that everything written about me in Moses’ Teachings, the Prophets, and the Psalms had to come true.”

Jesus was about 30 years old when he began ⌞his ministry⌟. Jesus, so people thought, was the son of Joseph, son of Eli,

All the people spoke well of him. They were amazed to hear the gracious words flowing from his lips. They said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”

(Philip was from Bethsaida, the hometown of Andrew and Peter.)

They went to Philip (who was from Bethsaida in Galilee) and told him, “Sir, we would like to meet Jesus.”

Philip said to Jesus, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will satisfy us.”

They answered him, “Jesus from Nazareth.” Jesus told them, “I am he.” Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with the crowd.

Jesus asked them again, “Who are you looking for?” They said, “Jesus from Nazareth.”

Pilate wrote a notice and put it on the cross. The notice read, “Jesus from Nazareth, the king of the Jews.”

Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two other disciples of Jesus were together.

They asked, “Isn’t this man Jesus, Joseph’s son? Don’t we know his father and mother? How can he say now, ‘I came from heaven’?”

As Jesus saw a large crowd coming to him, he said to Philip, “Where can we buy bread for these people to eat?”

Philip answered, “We would need about a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each of them to have a piece.”

You know that God anointed Jesus from Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went everywhere and did good things, such as healing everyone who was under the devil’s power. Jesus did these things because God was with him.

“Men of Israel, listen to what I say: Jesus from Nazareth was a man whom God brought to your attention. You know that through this man God worked miracles, did amazing things, and gave signs.

“I answered, ‘Who are you, sir?’ “The person told me, ‘I’m Jesus from Nazareth, the one you’re persecuting.’

“I used to think that I had to do a lot of things to oppose the one named Jesus of Nazareth.

However, Peter said to him, “I don’t have any money, but I’ll give you what I do have. Through the power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth, walk!”
