The grapevines are dried up. The fig trees are withered. The pomegranate, palm, and apricot trees, as well as all the trees in the orchards, have died. Yes, the joy of these people has died too.

You put more joy in my heart than when their grain and new wine increase.

Righteous people flourish like palm trees and grow tall like the cedars in Lebanon.

New wine dries up, and grapevines waste away. All happy people groan.

People will cry out from Horonaim, “Looting and great destruction!”

Joy and gladness have disappeared from the orchards and fields of Moab. I will stop the wine flowing from the winepresses. No one will stomp on grapes with shouts of joy. There will be shouts, but not shouts of joy.

Israel’s fields are ruined, and the ground is dried up. The grain has been destroyed. The new wine has dried up. The olive oil has run out.

Food disappears right before our eyes. Happiness and rejoicing disappear from our God’s temple.

At dawn the next day, God sent a worm to attack the plant so that it withered.

Is there any seed left in the barn? The vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree still haven’t produced. But from now on I will bless you.”

Then, for your sake, I will stop insects from eating ⌞your crops⌟. They will not destroy the produce of your land. The vines in your fields will not lose their unripened grapes,” says the Lord of Armies.

When they came to the Eshcol Valley, they cut off a branch with only one bunch of grapes on it. They carried it on a pole between two of them. They also brought some pomegranates and figs.
