What do you gain by mistreating me, by rejecting the work of your hands while you favor the plans of the wicked?

Your sin teaches you what to say. You choose ⌞to talk with⌟ a sly tongue.

“Aren’t you really very wicked? Is there no end to your wrongdoing?

“I swear an oath by God, the one who has taken away my rights, by the Almighty, who has made my life bitter:

It’s unthinkable for me to admit that you are right. Until I breathe my last breath, I will never give up my claim of integrity.

I cling to my righteousness and won’t let go. My conscience won’t accuse me as long as I live.

You have begun to treat me cruelly. With your mighty hand you assault me.

Elihu was also very angry with Job’s three friends because they had found no answer. They made it look as if God were wrong.

“But you spoke directly to me, and I listened to your words.

“Do you think this is right when you say, ‘My case is more just than God’s,’

“Would you undo my justice? Would you condemn me so that you can be righteous?

Indeed, devotion for your house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.

Jesus was angry as he looked around at them. He was deeply hurt because their minds were closed. Then he told the man, “Hold out your hand.” The man held it out, and his hand became normal again.

But the man wanted to justify his question. So he asked Jesus, “Who is my neighbor?”

Be angry without sinning. Don’t go to bed angry.
