Jeremiah sang a funeral song about Josiah. All the male and female singers still sing funeral songs about Josiah today. This became a tradition in Israel. They are written in ⌞the Book of⌟ the Funeral Songs.

Let that night be empty. Let no joyful singing be heard in it.

Let its stars turn dark before dawn. Let it hope for light and receive none. Let it not see the first light of dawn

“Can you pull Leviathan out ⌞of the water⌟ with a fishhook or tie its tongue down with a rope?

No one is brave enough to provoke Leviathan. Then who can stand in front of me?

“The mighty are afraid when Leviathan rises. Broken down, they draw back.

On that day the Lord will use his fierce and powerful sword to punish Leviathan, that slippery snake, Leviathan, that twisting snake. He will kill that monster which lives in the sea.

This is what the Lord, the Almighty God of Armies, says: There will be loud crying in every city square, and people will say in every street, “Oh, no!” They will call on farmers to mourn and on professional mourners to cry loudly.

‘We played music for you, but you didn’t dance. We sang a funeral song, but you didn’t show any sadness.’

When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a noisy crowd there. People were crying and sobbing loudly.
