“You know your father and his men. They are warriors as fierce as a wild bear whose cubs have been stolen. Your father is an experienced soldier. He will not camp with the troops tonight.

She said, “I solemnly swear, as the Lord your God lives, I didn’t bake any bread. I have one handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I’m gathering wood. I’m going to prepare something for myself and my son so that we can eat it and then die.”

“I hate my life. I will freely express my complaint. I will speak as bitterly as I feel.

Let that misery fill his belly. ⌞God⌟ throws his burning anger at the godless person and makes his wrath come down on him like rain.

His stomach is full of milk, and his bones are strong and healthy.

Together they lie down in the dust, and worms cover them.

“Why give light to one in misery and life to those who find it so bitter,

So I won’t keep my mouth shut, but I will speak from the distress that is in my spirit and complain about the bitterness in my soul.

He would not let me catch my breath. He fills me with bitterness.

The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger can share its joy.

God gives one person riches, wealth, and honor so that he doesn’t lack anything he wants. Yet, God doesn’t give him the power to enjoy any of them. Instead, a stranger enjoys them. This is pointless and is a painful tragedy.

“Son of man, shake as you eat your food. Tremble and be worried as you drink your water.
