Are you trying to make a fluttering leaf tremble or trying to chase dry husks?

They are snatched up before their time. A river washes their foundation away.

The east wind carries him away, and he’s gone. It sweeps him from his place.

Wicked people are not like that. Instead, they are like husks that the wind blows away.

Let them be like husks blown by the wind as the Messenger of the Lord chases them.

O my God, blow them away like tumbleweeds, like husks in the wind.

Pursue them with your storms, and terrify them with your windstorms

With your unlimited majesty, you destroyed those who attacked you. You sent out your burning anger. It burned them up like straw.

When the storm has passed, the wicked person has vanished, but the righteous person has an everlasting foundation.

The people will make noise like raging water. But the Lord will yell at them, and they will run far away. They will be chased away like husks on the mountains being blown by the wind, like whirling dust being blown by a storm.

Your many enemies will be like fine dust. Your many foes will be like husks blown by the wind. All of this will happen suddenly, unexpectedly.

They have hardly been planted. They have hardly been sown. They have hardly taken root in the ground. Then he blows on them and they wither, and a windstorm sweeps them away like straw.

As flames burn up straw and dry grass shrivels in flames, so their roots will rot, and their blossoms will blow away like dust. They have rejected the teachings of the Lord of Armies and have despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

“I will scatter you like straw that is blown away by a desert wind.

That is why they will be like fog in the morning and like morning dew that disappears quickly. They will be like straw blown away from threshing floors. They will be like smoke rising from chimneys.

⌞The people of Nineveh will be⌟ like tangled thorns and like people drunk on their own drink. They will be completely burned up like very dry straw.

He stands and shakes the earth. He casts a glance and startles the nations. The oldest mountains break apart. The ancient hills sink. The ancient paths belong to him.

His winnowing  shovel is in his hand, and he will clean up his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into a barn, but he will burn the husks in a fire that can never be put out.”

People may build on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw.
