“Terrors suddenly pounce on him from every side and chase him every step he takes.

Terrifying sounds are in his ears. While he enjoys peace, the destroyer comes to him.

A rope is hidden on the ground for him. A trap is on his path ⌞to catch⌟ him.

He will be driven from the light into the dark and chased out of the world.

He pulls it out, and it comes out of his back. The glittering point comes out of his gallbladder. “Terrors come quickly to the godless person:

He will fly away like a dream and not be found. He will be chased away like a vision in the night.

That is why traps are all around you and great fear suddenly grips you.

Terrors overtake him like a flood. A windstorm snatches him away at night.

because the arrows of the Almighty ⌞have found their target⌟ in me, and my spirit is drinking their poison. God’s terrors line up in battle against me.

There they are—panic-stricken— ⌞but⌟ there was no reason to panic, because God has scattered the bones of those who set up camp against you. You put them to shame. After all, God has rejected them.

They are suddenly destroyed. They are completely swept away by terror!

A wicked person flees when no one is chasing him, but righteous people are as bold as lions.

Each time it passes by it will take you. It will pass by morning after morning, during the day and during the night. Understanding this message brings only terror.

“What do I see in them? They are terrified. They are retreating. Their warriors are defeated. They flee without looking back. Terror is all around them,” declares the Lord.

Their tents and their flocks will be taken. Their tent curtains, utensils, and camels will be carried away. People will shout to them, “Terror is all around!”

Don’t go into the field or walk on the road. The enemy has a sword. Terror is all around.

King Belshazzar was terrified, and his face turned pale. His nobles didn’t know what to do.

I will fill with despair those who are left in the land of their enemies. The sound of a windblown leaf will make them run. They will run away and fall, but no one will be chasing them.

As people who know what it means to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others. God already knows what we are, and I hope that you also know what we are.

When Saul looked at the Philistine army, he was very afraid—terrified.
