“Should a wise person answer with endless details and fill his stomach with the east wind?

Will ⌞your⌟ long-winded speeches never end? What disturbs you that you keep on answering ⌞me⌟?

“How long before your words will end? Think it through, and then we’ll talk.

“How long will you say these things? How long will your words be so windy?

Do not let slanderers prosper on earth. Let evil hunt down violent people with one blow after another.

Sin is unavoidable when there is much talk, but whoever seals his lips is wise.

Watch your step when you go to the house of God. It is better to go there and listen than to bring the sacrifices fools bring. Fools are unaware that they are doing ⌞something⌟ evil.

Daydreaming comes when there are too many worries. Careless speaking comes when there are too many words.

Some Epicurean and Stoic philosophers had discussions with him. Some asked, “What is this babbling fool trying to say?” Others said, “He seems to be speaking about foreign gods.” The philosophers said these things because Paul was telling the Good News about Jesus and saying that people would come back to life.

Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and should not get angry easily.
