Jeremiah 31:1

“At that time,” declares the Lord, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people.”

You created the people of Israel to be your people forever. And you, Lord, became their God.

Blessed are the people who have these blessings! Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!

“This God is our God forever and ever. He will lead us beyond death.”

When that day comes, those who live on this coastland will say, ‘Look at what has happened to our hope. We ran ⌞to Egypt⌟ for help to be rescued from the king of Assyria. How can we escape?’ ”

Don’t be afraid, because I am with you. Don’t be intimidated; I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will support you with my victorious right hand.

In his lifetime, Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety. This is the name that he will be given: The Lord is our righteousness.

In those days the nation of Judah will live with the nation of Israel. They will come together from the land of the north to the land that I gave their ancestors as their own property.

“Don’t be afraid, my servant Jacob,” declares the Lord. “Don’t be terrified, Israel. I’m going to rescue you from a faraway place. I’m going to rescue your descendants from where they are captives. The descendants of Jacob will again have peace and security, and no one will frighten them.

You will be my people, and I will be your God.

The Lord’s burning anger will not turn back until he has done everything he intends to do. In the last days you will understand this clearly.

The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will bring my people Israel and Judah back from captivity. I will bring them back to the land that I gave their ancestors, and they will take possession of it.”

“But this is the promise that I will make to Israel after those days,” declares the Lord: “I will put my teachings inside them, and I will write those teachings on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

They will be my people, and I will be their God.

“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will keep the promise that I made to Israel and Judah.

I will restore Judah and Israel and rebuild them as they were before.

“In those days and at that time,” declares the Lord, “the people of Israel and Judah will cry as they go together to seek the Lord their God.

Then they will live by my laws and obey my rules. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David will be their prince. I, the Lord, have spoken.

You, my sheep, are the sheep in my pasture. You are mortal, and I am your God, declares the Almighty Lord.’ ”

Then you will live in the land that I gave your ancestors. You will be my people, and I will be your God.

From that day on, the people of Israel will know that I am the Lord their God.

“So this is what the Almighty Lord says: Now I will bring back Jacob’s captives and have compassion for the whole nation of Israel. I will stand up for my holy name.

The people of Judah and Israel will be gathered together. They will appoint one leader for themselves, and they will grow in the land. The day of Jezreel will be a great day.

So I will live among you and be your God, and you will be my people.

I will bring this third ⌞of the people⌟ through the fire. I will refine them as silver is refined. I will test them as gold is tested. They will call on me, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people.’ They will reply, ‘The Lord is our God.’ ”

Jesus told her, “Don’t hold on to me. I have not yet gone to the Father. But go to my brothers and sisters and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ”

Can God’s temple contain false gods? Clearly, we are the temple of the living God. As God said, “I will live and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.”

Make sure that no one commits sexual sin or is as concerned about earthly things as Esau was. He sold his rights as the firstborn son for a single meal.
