At that time they will call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord. All nations will gather in Jerusalem because the name of the Lord will be found there. They will no longer follow their own stubborn, evil ways.

Glorious things are said about you, O city of God! Selah

Certainly, we wait with hope for you, O Lord, ⌞as we follow⌟ the path of your guiding principles. We want to remember you and your name.

And ⌞I will remember⌟ the foreigners who have joined the Lord to worship him, to love the Lord’s name, and to be his servants. All of them will keep the day of rest—a holy day, from becoming unholy and will faithfully observe the conditions of my promise.

The people of the west will fear the name of the Lord. Those in the east will fear his glory. He will come like a rushing stream. The wind of the Lord pushes him.

In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a high and lofty throne. The bottom of his robe filled the temple.

This is what the Lord says: Heaven is my throne. The earth is my footstool. Where can you build a house or resting place for me?

Because of their actions and their thoughts, I am coming to gather the nations of every language. They will come and see my glory.

They will bring all your relatives from every nation like a grain offering to the Lord. “They will come on horses, in chariots, in wagons, on mules and camels to my holy mountain, Jerusalem,” declares the Lord. They will come like the people of Israel who bring their grain offerings in clean dishes to the Lord’s temple.

But they didn’t obey me or pay attention to me. They followed their own stubborn, evil ways. So I punished them, because they did not keep all the terms of the promise, the terms that I commanded them to keep.”

After I’ve uprooted them, I will have compassion on them again. I will return them to their inheritance and to their lands.

Suppose they learn carefully the ways of my people. Suppose they take an oath in my name, ‘As the Lord lives …’ as they taught my people to take an oath in ⌞the name of⌟ Baal. Then they will build homes among my people.

For the sake of your name, don’t despise us. Don’t dishonor your glorious throne. Remember your promise  to us; don’t break it.

You have done worse than your ancestors. All of you are following your own stubborn, evil ways that keep you from obeying me.

The Lord is my strength and my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. Nations come to you from the most distant parts of the world and say, “Our ancestors have inherited lies, worthless and unprofitable gods.”

Our holy place is a glorious throne, highly honored from the beginning.

“But they will answer, ‘It’s useless! We’ll live the way we want to. We’ll go our own stubborn, evil ways.’

“I wanted to treat you like children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful property among the nations. I thought that you would call me Father and wouldn’t turn away from me.

This is what the Lord of Armies, the God of Israel, says: When I have brought them back from captivity, they will once again use this saying in Judah and in its cities: “The Lord bless you, home of righteousness, holy mountain.

Then Jerusalem will be my source of joy, praise, and honor. All the nations on earth will hear about all the blessings that I will give to Jerusalem. They will be afraid and tremble because of all the prosperity that I will provide for it.

if you take the oath, ‘As the Lord lives …’ in an honest, fair, and right way, then the nations will be blessed, and they will be honored by me.”

But they didn’t obey me or pay attention to me. They followed their own plans and their stubborn, evil ways. They went backward and not forward.

They followed their own stubborn ways and other gods—the Baals, as their ancestors taught them.”

Above the dome over their heads was something that looked like a throne made of sapphire. On the throne was a figure that looked like a human.

The voice said to me, “Son of man, this is the place where my throne is and the place where my feet rest. This is where I will live among the Israelites forever. Then the people of Israel and their kings will no longer dishonor my holy name by acting like prostitutes, nor will they dishonor it with the dead bodies of their kings.

The city will measure about 31,500 feet all the way around. From then on the city’s name will be: The Lord Is There.

On that day many nations will join the Lord and become my people. I will live among you. Then you will know that the Lord of Armies has sent me to you.

I will bring them back, and they will live in Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be their God, who is faithful and just.

Whenever you look at the threads in the tassel, you will remember all the Lord’s commands and obey them. Then you won’t do whatever you want and go after whatever you see, as if you were chasing after prostitutes.

They knew God but did not praise and thank him for being God. Instead, their thoughts were pointless, and their misguided minds were plunged into darkness.

Certainly, sin shouldn’t have power over you because you’re not controlled by God’s laws, but by God’s favor.

But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.

Some things are hidden. They belong to the Lord our God. But the things that have been revealed in these teachings belong to us and to our children forever. We must obey every word of these teachings.

But after each judge died, the people went back to their old ways and acted more corruptly than their parents. They followed, served, and worshiped other gods. They never gave up their evil practices and stubborn ways.
