The anger of the Lord will not turn back until he has done everything he intends to do. In the last days you will understand this clearly.

The Lord of Armies has taken an oath: “It will happen exactly as I’ve intended. It will turn out exactly as I’ve planned.

My word, which comes from my mouth, is like the rain and snow. It will not come back to me without results. It will accomplish whatever I want and achieve whatever I send it to do.”

The Lord’s burning anger will not turn back until he has done everything he intends to do. In the last days you will understand this clearly.

The earth will mourn, and the sky will grow black. I have spoken, and I have planned it. I won’t change my plans, and I won’t turn back.

Raise your battle flag in front of the walls of Babylon. Strengthen the guards. Station watchmen. Prepare ambushes. The Lord will carry out his plans against the people who live in Babylon.

It’s sharpened to kill and polished to flash like lightning. How can we rejoice? My son has refused to be disciplined or punished.

Then everyone will know that I, the Lord, have taken my sword from its scabbard, and I will not put it back again.’

Didn’t my warnings and my laws, which I’ve commanded my servants the prophets ⌞to preach⌟, finally catch up with your ancestors? Then your ancestors turned away from their sins and said, ‘The Lord of Armies has done to us what he had planned to do. He has dealt with us as our ways and deeds deserve.’ ”

When you’re in distress and all these things happen to you, then you will finally come back to the Lord your God and obey him.
