Again the Lord spoke his word to me and asked, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” I answered, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”

They will fight you, but they will not defeat you. I am with you, and I will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

The Lord spoke his word to Jeremiah. He said,

In the past God spoke to our ancestors at many different times and in many different ways through the prophets.

No prophecy ever originated from humans. Instead, it was given by the Holy Spirit as humans spoke under God’s direction.
