A person who has doubts is thinking about two different things at the same time and can’t make up his mind about anything.

Elijah stood up in front of all the people and asked them, “How long will you try to have it both ways? If the Lord is God, follow him; if Baal is God, follow him.” The people didn’t say a word.

They worshiped the Lord but also served their own gods according to the customs of the nations from which they had come.

These ⌞other⌟ nations worshiped the Lord but also served their own idols. So did their children and their grandchildren. They still do whatever their ancestors did.

I hate two-faced people, but I love your teachings.

The Lord says, “These people worship me with their mouths and honor me with their lips. But their hearts are far from me, and their worship of me is ⌞based on⌟ rules made by humans.

They are hypocrites. Now they must take their punishment. God will tear down their altars and destroy their stone markers.

“The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is unclouded, your whole body will be full of light.

“No one can serve two masters. He will hate the first master and love the second, or he will be devoted to the first and despise the second. You cannot serve God and wealth.

A person who has doubts shouldn’t expect to receive anything from the Lord.

Come close to God, and he will come close to you. Clean up your lives, you sinners, and clear your minds, you doubters.

They’re always looking for an adulterous woman. They can’t stop looking for sin as they seduce people who aren’t sure of what they believe. Their minds are focused on their greed. They are cursed.

He talks about this subject in all his letters. Some things in his letters are hard to understand. Ignorant people and people who aren’t sure of what they believe distort what Paul says in his letters the same way they distort the rest of the Scriptures. These people will be destroyed.
