God's Word

Open your ears, and come to me! Listen so that you may live! I will make an everlasting promise  to you— the blessings I promised to David.

I will make my promise to you and your descendants for generations to come as an everlasting promise. I will be your God and the God of your descendants.

A scepter will never depart from Judah nor a ruler’s staff from between his feet until Shiloh comes and the people obey him.

“Truly, God considers my house to be that way, because he has made a lasting promise  to me, with every detail arranged and assured. ⌞He promised⌟ everything that helps me, everything that pleases me. Truly, he makes these things happen.

I have decided to obey your laws. They offer a reward that never ends.

Open your ears to my teachings, my people. Turn your ears to the words from my mouth.

My mercy will stay with him forever. My promise to him is unbreakable.

I, the Lord, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward my people’s work. I will make an everlasting promise  to them.

You will serve the Lord your God and David your king. I will establish him for you.

I will make an eternal promise  to them that I will never stop blessing them. I will make them fear me so that they will never turn away from me.

Then I would reject the descendants of Jacob and of my servant David. I would not let any of David’s descendants rule the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However, I will restore their fortunes and love them.”

Jeremiah said, “You will not be handed over to them. Obey the Lord by doing what I’m telling you. Then everything will go well for you, and you will live.

They will ask which road goes to Zion and turn in that direction. They will go there to make a permanent agreement with the Lord. It will not be forgotten.

I will remember the promise that I made with you when you were young, and I will make it a promise that will last forever.

I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David will be their prince. I, the Lord, have spoken.

“ ‘I will promise them peace. I will remove the wild animals from the land so that my sheep can live safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.

I will promise them peace. This promise  will last forever. I will establish them, make them increase in number, and put my holy place among them permanently.

Live by my standards, and obey my rules. You will have life through them. I am the Lord.

This is what the Lord says to the nation of Israel: Search for me and live!

Search for the Lord and live! If you don’t, he will spread like a fire through the house of Joseph and burn it down. Bethel will have no one to put it out.

“Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.

“Blessed are your eyes because they see and your ears because they hear.

The person who belongs to God understands what God says. You don’t understand because you don’t belong to God.”

“God stated that he brought Jesus back to life and that Jesus’ body never decayed. He said, ‘I will give you the enduring love promised to David.’

Moses writes about receiving God’s approval by following his laws. He says, “The person who obeys these laws will live because he obeys them.”

The God of peace brought the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus, back to life through the blood of an eternal promise.
