“You suffering, comfortless, storm-ravaged city! I will rebuild your city with precious stones. I will reset your foundations with sapphires.

The king commanded them to quarry large, expensive blocks of stone in order to provide a foundation of cut stone for the temple.

He covered the floor of the inner and outer rooms of the temple with gold.

How should we answer the messengers from the nations? ⌞Tell them that⌟ the Lord has laid Zion’s foundation, and his humble people will find refuge in it.

This is what the Almighty Lord says: I am going to lay a rock in Zion, a rock that has been tested, a precious cornerstone, a solid foundation. Whoever believes ⌞in him⌟ will not worry.

He says about Cyrus, “He is my shepherd. He will do everything I want him to do.” He says about Jerusalem, “It will be rebuilt.” He says about the temple, “Your foundation will be laid.”

But Zion said, “The Lord has abandoned me. My Lord has forgotten me.”

Listen to this, you humble people who are drunk but not from wine.

I will put it in the hands of those who made you suffer. They said to you, “Lie down so that we can walk over you.” So you made your back like the ground and like a street for them to cross.

I will rebuild your towers with rubies, your gates with sparkling stones, and all your walls with precious stones.”

“The Lord has called you as if you were a wife who was abandoned and in grief, a wife who married young and was rejected,” says your God.

“You have been abandoned and hated; no one has passed through you. But now I will make you a source of everlasting pride, a joy for all generations.

I’ll restore your health and heal your wounds,” declares the Lord. “People call you an outcast: Zion, no one cares for you.

“All my enemies have heard that I am groaning. No one offers me comfort. All my enemies have heard about my disaster. They are happy that you did it. You have allowed the day to come, the one that you had announced. Let my enemies be like me now.

Above the dome over their heads was something that looked like a throne made of sapphire. On the throne was a figure that looked like a human.

As I looked at the dome over the heads of the angels, I saw something that looked like a throne made of sapphire.

The day for rebuilding your walls and extending your borders is coming.

Suddenly, a severe storm came across the sea. The waves were covering the boat. Yet, Jesus was sleeping.

I’ve told you this so that my peace will be with you. In the world you’ll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world.”

They strengthened the disciples in these cities and encouraged the disciples to remain faithful. Paul and Barnabas told them, “We must suffer a lot to enter God’s kingdom.”

You are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Christ Jesus himself is the cornerstone.

On that day I will become angry with them. I will abandon them and turn away from them. They will be destroyed, and many terrible disasters will happen to them. On that day they will ask, ‘Haven’t these disasters happened to us because our God isn’t with us?’
