Isaiah 52:12

God's Word

You will not go away in a hurry, nor will you go away quickly. The Lord will go ahead of you. The God of Israel will guard you from behind.

This is how ⌞you should be dressed when⌟ you eat it: with your belt on, your sandals on your feet, and your shepherd’s staff in your hand. You must eat it in a hurry. It is the Lord’s Passover.

The Egyptians begged the people to leave the country quickly. They said, “Soon we’ll all be dead!”

I will lead the blind on unfamiliar roads. I will lead them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light in front of them. I will make rough places smooth. These are the things I will do for them, and I will never abandon them.

I will go ahead of you, Cyrus, and smooth out the rough places. I will break down the bronze doors and cut through the iron bars.

They will never be hungry or thirsty, nor will the sun or the burning, hot wind strike them. The one who has compassion on them will lead them and guide them to springs.

I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be restored.

Chained prisoners will be set free. They will not die in prison. They will not go without food.

I’ve seen their ⌞sinful⌟ ways, but I’ll heal them. I’ll guide them and give them rest. I’ll comfort them and their mourners.

Then your light will break through like the dawn, and you will heal quickly. Your righteousness will go ahead of you, and the glory of the Lord will guard you from behind.

⌞The Lord⌟ will open the way and lead them. They will break out, go through the gate, and leave. Their king will travel in front of them. The Lord will lead the people.

As a rear guard for the whole camp, the armies led by Dan’s descendants broke camp last with their flag in front. Ahiezer, son of Ammishaddai, was in command.

Never eat leavened bread with the meat from this sacrifice. Instead, for seven days you must eat unleavened bread at this festival. (It is the bread of misery because you left Egypt in a hurry.) Eat this bread so that, as long as you live, you will remember the day you left Egypt.

The Lord your God is going with you. He will fight for you against your enemies and give you victory.”

As soon as everyone had crossed, the priests with the Lord’s ark crossed and went ahead of them.

The armed men went ahead of the priests, who blew their horns. The rear guard followed the ark while the priests continued to blow their horns.

Then Deborah said to Barak, “Attack! This is the day the Lord will hand Sisera over to you. The Lord will go ahead of you.” So Barak came down from Mount Tabor with 10,000 men behind him.
