How horrible it will be for those who string people along with lies and empty promises, whose lives are sinful.

He says to himself, “God has forgotten. He has hidden his face. He will never see it!”

Godless fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt. They do disgusting things. There is no one who does good things.

He flatters himself and does not hate or ⌞even⌟ recognize his guilt.

They eat food obtained through wrongdoing and drink wine obtained through violence.

You say, “We made a treaty with death and an agreement with the grave. When the overwhelming disaster passes by, it won’t matter to us, because we have taken refuge in our lies, and falsehood is our hiding place.”

The land is filled with adulterers. The land mourns because of the curse. Pastures in the wilderness have dried up. The people are evil, and they use their strength to do the wrong things.

“⌞Say this⌟ about the prophets of Jerusalem: I see something horrible. The prophets of Jerusalem commit adultery and live a lie. They support those who do evil so that no one turns back from his wickedness. They are all like Sodom to me, and those who live in Jerusalem are like Gomorrah.”

“No one can hide so that I can’t see him,” declares the Lord. “I fill heaven and earth!” declares the Lord.

As Jehudi read three or four columns, the king would cut them off with a scribe’s knife and throw them into the fire in the fireplace. He did this until the whole scroll was burned up.

You have discouraged righteous people with your lies, even though I hadn’t brought them any grief. You encouraged wicked people not to turn from their wicked ways to save their lives.

“At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those who are satisfied with their hardened lifestyle, who think that the Lord won’t do anything—good or bad.

You will be thrown out of synagogues. Certainly, the time is coming when people who murder you will think that they are serving God.

“I used to think that I had to do a lot of things to oppose the one named Jesus of Nazareth.

Then Micah said, “Now I know that the Lord will be good to me. I have a Levite for my priest.”

Micah owned a shrine. He also made an ephod  and household idols. He ordained one of his sons to be his priest.
