Sheol doesn’t thank you! Death doesn’t praise you! Those who go down to the pit cannot expect you to be faithful.
O Lord, I call to you. O my rock, do not turn a deaf ear to me. If you remain silent, I will be like those who go into the pit.
“How will you profit if my blood is shed, if I go into the pit? Will the dust ⌞of my body⌟ give thanks to you? Will it tell about your truth?”
In death, no one remembers you. In the grave, who praises you?
I am worn out from my groaning. My eyes flood my bed every night. I soak my couch with tears.
A wicked person is thrown down by his own wrongdoing, but even in his death a righteous person has a refuge.
Whatever presents itself for you to do, do it with ⌞all⌟ your might, because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or skill in the grave where you’re going.
They went down alive to their graves with everything that belonged to them. The ground covered them, and so they disappeared from the assembly.
“These people will go away into eternal punishment, but those with God’s approval will go into eternal life.”
The citizens of that kingdom will be thrown outside into the darkness. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.”
