Isaiah 30:18

God's Word

The Lord is waiting to be kind to you. He rises to have compassion on you. The Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.

Although you say that you pay attention to him, your case is in front of him, but you’ll have to wait for him.

Kiss the Son, or he will become angry and you will die on your way because his anger will burst into flames. Blessed is everyone who takes refuge in him.

Wait with hope for the Lord. Be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Yes, wait with hope for the Lord.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the person who takes refuge in him.

O Lord of Armies, blessed is the person who trusts you.

The king’s strength is that he loves justice. You have established fairness. You have done what is fair and right for Jacob.

Then he passed in front of Moses, calling out, “The Lord, the Lord, a compassionate and merciful God, patient, always faithful and ready to forgive.

Whoever gives attention to the Lord’s word prospers, and blessed is the person who trusts the Lord.

This is what the Lord says to me: I will keep quiet and watch from my dwelling place. My presence will be like scorching heat in the sunshine, like heavy dew in the heat of the harvest.

The eyes of arrogant people will be humbled. High and mighty people will be brought down. On that day the Lord alone will be honored.

On that day ⌞his people⌟ will say, “This is our God; we have waited for him, and now he will save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him. Let us rejoice and be glad because he will save us.”

I will make justice a measuring line and righteousness a plumb line. Hail will sweep away your refuge of lies, and floodwaters will wash away your hiding place.

O Lord, have pity on us. We wait with hope for you. Be our strength in the morning. Yes, be our savior in times of trouble.

The Lord is honored because he lives on high. He will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.

Yet, the strength of those who wait with hope in the Lord will be renewed. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and won’t become weary. They will walk and won’t grow tired.

I have been silent for a long time. I kept quiet and held myself back. But like a woman in childbirth I will cry out. I will gasp and pant.

I will lead the blind on unfamiliar roads. I will lead them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light in front of them. I will make rough places smooth. These are the things I will do for them, and I will never abandon them.

For my name’s sake I’ll be patient. For my glory’s sake I’ll hold my anger back from you, rather than destroy you.

The Lord of Armies will be honored when he judges. The holy God will show himself to be holy when he does what is right.

“My thoughts are not your thoughts, and my ways are not your ways,” declares the Lord.

I will not accuse you forever. I will not be angry with you forever. Otherwise, the spirits, the lives of those I’ve made, would grow faint in my presence.

I, the Lord, love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward my people’s work. I will make an everlasting promise  to them.

No one has ever heard, no one has paid attention, and no one has seen any god except you. You help those who wait for you.

I will wait for the Lord, who hides his face from the descendants of Jacob. I will hope in him.

Blessed is the person who trusts the Lord. The Lord will be his confidence.

After ten days the Lord spoke his word to Jeremiah.

Blessed are those who wait until they reach 1,335 days.

Yet, I will love the descendants of Judah. I will rescue them because I am the Lord their God. I won’t use bows, swords, wars, horses, or horsemen to rescue them.”

“That is why I’m going to win her back. I will lead her into the desert. I will speak tenderly to her.

You have tried the patience of the Lord with your words. But you ask, “How have we tried his patience?” When you say, “Everyone who does evil is considered good by the Lord. He is pleased with them,” or “Where is the God of justice?”

“So he went at once to his father. While he was still at a distance, his father saw him and felt sorry for him. He ran to his son, put his arms around him, and kissed him.

A man named Simeon was in Jerusalem. He lived an honorable and devout life. He was waiting for the one who would comfort Israel. The Holy Spirit was with Simeon

God used his power to give Jesus the honored position—the one next to him on the heavenly throne as leader and savior. He did this to lead the people of Israel to him, to change the way they think and act, and to forgive their sins.

The laws in Moses’ Teachings were added to increase the failure. But where sin increased, God’s kindness increased even more.

If God wants to demonstrate his anger and reveal his power, he can do it. But can’t he be extremely patient with people who are objects of his anger because they are headed for destruction?

so that the kindness  he had given us in his dear Son would be praised and given glory.

He poured out his kindness by giving us every kind of wisdom and insight

He is a rock. What he does is perfect. All his ways are fair. He is a faithful God, who does no wrong. He is honorable and reliable.

We consider those who endure to be blessed. You have heard about Job’s endurance. You saw that the Lord ended Job’s suffering because the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

Think of our Lord’s patience as an opportunity ⌞for us⌟ to be saved. This is what our dear brother Paul wrote to you about, using the wisdom God gave him.

The Lord isn’t slow to do what he promised, as some people think. Rather, he is patient for your sake. He doesn’t want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to him and change the way they think and act.

“Do not boast ⌞or⌟ let arrogance come out of your mouth because the Lord is a God of knowledge, and he weighs ⌞our⌟ actions.
