I will acknowledge the Lord’s acts of mercy, and ⌞sing⌟ the praises of the Lord, because of everything that the Lord has done for us. He has done many good things for the nation of Israel because of his compassion and his unlimited mercy.

You greeted the one who gladly does right and remembers your ways. You showed your anger, because we’ve sinned. We’ve continued to sin for a long time. Can we still be saved?

If a relative or a mortician comes to take the dead bodies out of the house and asks someone who is inside the house, “Is there anyone else with you?” that person will answer, “No.” “Hush,” he will add. “We shouldn’t mention the name of the Lord!”

All the nations live by the names of their gods, but we will live by the name of the Lord our God forever.

You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Now you have been freed from sin and have become God’s slaves. This results in a holy life and, finally, in everlasting life.

Who says that you are any better than other people? What do you have that wasn’t given to you? If you were given what you have, why are you bragging as if it weren’t a gift?

Through Jesus we should always bring God a sacrifice of praise, that is, words that acknowledge him.

Don’t get mixed up with the nations left in your territory. Don’t ever mention the names of their gods or swear an oath to them. Don’t ever serve their gods or bow down to them.
