The leaders of Zoan are nothing but fools. The wisest of Pharaoh’s counselors gives stupid advice. How can you tell Pharaoh, “I’m a descendant of wise men, a descendant of ancient kings”?

Solomon’s wisdom was greater than that of all the eastern people and all the wisdom of the Egyptians.

So Hiram gave Solomon all the cedar and cypress wood he wanted.

The Lord blocks the plans of the nations. He frustrates the schemes of the people of the world.

I was stupid, and I did not understand. I was like a dumb animal in your presence.

There they will cry, ‘Pharaoh, king of Egypt, is a big windbag. He has missed his chance.’

This is what the Lord of Armies says about Edom: Is there no longer any wisdom in Teman? Has wisdom disappeared from your people? Has their wisdom vanished?

Wise people are put to shame, confused, and trapped. They have rejected the Lord’s word. They don’t really have any wisdom.

You became too proud because of your beauty. You wasted your wisdom because of your greatness. So I threw you to the ground and left you in front of the kings so that they could see you.

I will destroy Pathros, set fire to Zoan, and bring punishment on Thebes.

One disaster will happen after another. One rumor will follow another. People will ask for a vision from a prophet. The teachings of priests and the advice of leaders will disappear.

All your allies will force you to leave your land. The people who are at peace with you will deceive you. Those who eat food with you will set traps for you, and you won’t even know about it.

“On that day I will destroy the wise people in Edom and take wisdom away from Esau’s mountain,” declares the Lord.

So Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and became a great man in what he said and did.
