I hate your New Moon Festivals and your appointed festivals. They’ve become a burden to me, and I’m tired of putting up with them.

They were appointed to stand in front of the Lord in the required numbers whenever burnt offerings were made—on weekly days of rest—holy days, at New Moon Festivals, and on appointed annual festivals.

How horrible it will be for you Ariel, Ariel, the city where David camped. Let year after year go by. Let your annual festivals go on.

I will torment Ariel, and the city will be filled with people grieving and mourning. The city will become like Ariel.

I will put an end to all her celebrations: her annual festivals, her New Moon Festivals, her weekly worship days—all her appointed festivals.

They have been unfaithful to the Lord, because their children do not belong to him. Now their New Moon ⌞Festivals⌟ will devour them and their fields.

I am going to crush you as an overloaded wagon crushes a person.

I hate your festivals; I despise them. I’m not pleased with your religious assemblies.

I got rid of three shepherds in one month. I became impatient with the sheep, and they also became disgusted with me.

You have tried the patience of the Lord with your words. But you ask, “How have we tried his patience?” When you say, “Everyone who does evil is considered good by the Lord. He is pleased with them,” or “Where is the God of justice?”
