The first promise had rules for the priests’ service. It also had a holy place on earth.

“Then have them make a holy place for me, and I will live among them.

Suppose they are ashamed of everything that they have done. Then show them the design of the temple, its arrangements, its exits and entrances—its entire design. Tell them about all its rules and regulations. Then write these things down for them so that they can remember its design and follow all its rules.

So you must follow my instructions. Don’t live by the standards of the people who lived there before you. What they do is disgusting. Never become unclean that way. I am the Lord your God.”

The priests must do what I order, or their sin will bring them death because they dishonored a holy offering. I am the Lord, who sets them apart as holy.

You must never leave any of the meat until morning or break any of the animal’s bones. You must follow all the rules for the Passover when you celebrate it.

Zechariah and Elizabeth had God’s approval. They followed all the Lord’s commands and regulations perfectly.

They are Israelites, God’s adopted children. They have the Lord’s glory, the pledges, Moses’ Teachings, the true worship, and the promises.

Be careful not to let anyone rob you ⌞of this faith⌟ through a shallow and misleading philosophy. Such a person follows human traditions and the world’s way of doing things rather than following Christ.

God made this new promise and showed that the first promise was outdated. What is outdated and aging will soon disappear.

He serves as priest of the holy place and of the true tent set up by the Lord and not by any human.

If nothing had been wrong with the first promise, no one would look for another one.

Christ didn’t go into a holy place made by human hands. He didn’t go into a model of the real thing. Instead, he went into heaven to appear in God’s presence on our behalf.
