At last Joseph said to his brothers, “I’m about to die. God will definitely take care of you and take you out of this land to the land he swore with an oath to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

Why should a mortal be considered faultless or someone born of a woman be considered righteous?

How much less pure is a mortal—who is only a maggot— a descendant of Adam—who is only a worm!”

O Lord, what are humans that you should care about them? What are mere mortals that you should think about them?

All the nations amount to nothing in his presence. He considers them less than nothing and worthless.

I alone am the one who comforts you. Why, then, are you afraid of mortals, who must die, of humans, who are like grass?

“Praise the Lord God of Israel! He has come to take care of his people and to set them free.

A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful.

Everyone was struck with fear and praised God. They said, “A great prophet has appeared among us,” and “God has taken care of his people.”

No one should take advantage of or exploit other believers that way. The Lord is the one who punishes people for all these things. We’ve already told you and warned you about this.

Somewhere in Scripture God has said this about the seventh day: “On the seventh day God rested from all his work.”

In another place in Scripture, God said, “You are a priest forever, in the way Melchizedek was a priest.”

So they tried to find out what time or situation the Spirit of Christ kept referring to whenever he predicted Christ’s sufferings and the glory that would follow.
