Endure your discipline. God corrects you as a father corrects his children. All children are disciplined by their fathers.

His father had never confronted him by asking why he was doing this.

Whoever refuses to spank his son hates him, but whoever loves his son disciplines him from early on.

Discipline your son while there is still hope. Do not be the one responsible for his death.

Foolishness is firmly attached to a child’s heart. Spanking will remove it far from him.

A spanking and a warning produce wisdom, but an undisciplined child disgraces his mother.

Correct your son, and he will give you peace of mind. He will bring delight to your soul.

They strengthened the disciples in these cities and encouraged the disciples to remain faithful. Paul and Barnabas told them, “We must suffer a lot to enter God’s kingdom.”

But when the Lord judges us, he disciplines us so that we won’t be condemned along with the rest of the world.

Learn this lesson by heart: The Lord your God was disciplining you as parents discipline their children.

Why do you show no respect for my sacrifices and grain offerings that I have commanded people to make in my dwelling place? Why do you honor your sons more than me by making yourselves fat on the best of all the sacrifices offered by my people Israel?

What is going to happen to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be a sign to you: Both of them will die on the same day.

I told him that I would hand down a permanent judgment against his household because he knew about his sons’ sin—that they were cursing God  —but he didn’t try to stop them.
