Faith led Moses to leave Egypt without being afraid of the king’s anger. Moses didn’t give up but continued as if he could actually see the invisible God.

I always keep the Lord in front of me. When he is by my side, I cannot be moved.

Then all these officials of yours will come, bow down to me, and say, ‘You and all the people who follow you, get out!’ After that I will leave.” Burning with anger, Moses left Pharaoh.

This is how ⌞you should be dressed when⌟ you eat it: with your belt on, your sandals on your feet, and your shepherd’s staff in your hand. You must eat it in a hurry. It is the Lord’s Passover.

All the Israelites did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron.

Now, the Lord had said to Moses in Midian, “Go back to Egypt, because all the men who wanted to kill you are dead.”

Everyone will hate you because you are committed to me. But the person who patiently endures to the end will be saved.

But they don’t develop any roots. They last for a short time. When suffering or persecution comes along because of the word, they immediately fall ⌞from faith⌟.

This is what David meant when he said about Jesus: ‘I always see the Lord in front of me. I cannot be moved because he is by my side.

Love never stops being patient, never stops believing, never stops hoping, never gives up.

We don’t look for things that can be seen but for things that can’t be seen. Things that can be seen are only temporary. But things that can’t be seen last forever.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

Worship and glory belong forever to the eternal king, the immortal, invisible, and only God. Amen.

He is the only one who cannot die. He lives in light that no one can come near. No one has seen him, nor can they see him. Honor and power belong to him forever! Amen.

Remember the past, when you first learned the truth. You endured a lot of hardship and pain.

Faith assures us of things we expect and convinces us of the existence of things we cannot see.

All these people died having faith. They didn’t receive the things that God had promised them, but they saw these things coming in the distant future and rejoiced. They acknowledged that they were living as strangers with no permanent home on earth.

So Abraham received what God promised because he waited patiently for it.

We consider those who endure to be blessed. You have heard about Job’s endurance. You saw that the Lord ended Job’s suffering because the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

Although you have never seen Christ, you love him. You don’t see him now, but you believe in him. You are extremely happy with joy and praise that can hardly be expressed in words
