Everyone who worships idols and brags about false gods will be put to shame. All the gods will bow to him.

“This Good News about the kingdom will be spread throughout the world as a testimony to all nations. Then the end will come.

The Word became human and lived among us. We saw his glory. It was the glory that the Father shares with his only Son, a glory full of kindness  and truth.

No one has ever seen God. God’s only Son, the one who is closest to the Father’s heart, has made him known.

God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.

This is true because he already knew his people and had already appointed them to have the same form as the image of his Son. Therefore, his Son is the firstborn among many children.

Joyfully sing with the Lord’s people, you nations, because he will take revenge for the death of his servants. He will get even with his enemies and make peace for his people’s land.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

He is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, the first to come back to life so that he would have first place in everything.

God never said to any of his angels, “You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.” And God never said to any of his angels, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son.”

For this reason, when Christ came into the world, he said, “ ‘You did not want sacrifices and offerings, but you prepared a body for me.

Now Christ has gone to heaven where he holds the honored position—the one next to God the Father on the throne. Angels, rulers, and powers have been placed under his authority.

God has shown us his love by sending his only Son into the world so that we could have life through him.

and from Jesus Christ, the witness, the trustworthy one, the first to come back to life, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. Glory and power forever and ever  belong to the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood
