Yet, a king is an advantage for a country with cultivated fields.

I passed by a lazy person’s field, the vineyard belonging to a person without sense.

Whoever works his land will have plenty to eat, but the one who chases unrealistic dreams has no sense.

The mouth of a righteous person is a fountain of life, but the mouths of wicked people conceal violence.

You will be engaged to a woman, but another man will have sex with her. You will build a house, but you won’t live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you won’t enjoy the grapes.

If you have planted a vineyard and not enjoyed the grapes, you may go home. Otherwise, you might die in battle, and someone else will enjoy the grapes.

He named him Noah [Relief], and said, “This child will bring us relief from the work and painful labor of our hands since the Lord has cursed the ground.”

Then she gave birth to another child, Abel, Cain’s brother. Abel was a shepherd, and Cain was a farmer.

So the Lord God sent the man out of the Garden of Eden to farm the ground from which the man had been formed.

Does a soldier ever serve in the army at his own expense? Does anyone plant a vineyard and not eat the grapes? Does anyone take care of a flock and not drink milk from the sheep?

Stop staring at me because I am so dark. The sun has tanned me. My brothers were angry with me. They made me the caretaker of the vineyards. I have not even taken care of my own vineyard.

These were Noah’s three sons. From them the whole earth was populated. Ham was the father of Canaan.

He drank some wine, got drunk, and lay naked inside his tent.
