Genesis 7:13

On that same day Noah and his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, as well as Noah’s wife and his three daughters-in-law went into the ship.

Shem, Japheth’s older brother, also had children. ⌞Shem was⌟ the ancestor of all the sons of Eber.

Ham’s descendants were Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.

When Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

He had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

“But I will make my promise  to you. You, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives will go into the ship.

The Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ship with your whole family because I have seen that you alone are righteous among the people of today.

They had with them every type of wild animal, every type of domestic animal, every type of creature that crawls on the earth, and every type of bird (every creature with wings).

By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the land was dry.

Faith led Noah to listen when God warned him about the things in the future that he could not see. He obeyed God and built a ship to save his family. Through faith Noah condemned the world and received God’s approval that comes through faith.

They are like those who disobeyed long ago in the days of Noah when God waited patiently while Noah built the ship. In this ship a few people—eight in all—were saved by water.

God didn’t spare the ancient world either. He brought the flood on the world of ungodly people, but he protected Noah and seven other people. Noah was his messenger who told people about the kind of life that has God’s approval.

When their fathers or brothers come to us to complain, we’ll tell them, ‘Have pity on them, since we didn’t provide a wife for each man in the battle. You won’t be guilty because you didn’t give them the wives yourselves.’ ”
