Genesis 50:13

God's Word

They carried him back to Canaan and buried him in the cave in the field of Machpelah, east of Mamre. Abraham had bought this tomb from Ephron the Hittite.

So the field and its cave were sold by the Hittites to Abraham as his property to be used as a tomb.

Then he took his last breath, and died at a very old age. After a long and full life, he joined his ancestors in death.

Jacob’s sons did for him what he had told them to do.

After Joseph had buried his father, he went back to Egypt along with his brothers and everyone who had gone there with him to bury his father.

Manasseh lay down in death with his ancestors. He was buried in the garden of his own palace, in the garden of Uzza. His son Amon succeeded him as king.

They were taken to Shechem for burial in the tomb that Abraham purchased in Shechem from Hamor’s sons.
