Asa had an army of 300,000 Judeans who were armed with large shields and spears and 280,000 Benjaminites who were armed with small shields and bows. All of these men were good fighting men.

Then Asa gathered all the people from Judah and Benjamin and the foreigners who had come from Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon. (Many of them had come to him from Israel when they saw that Asa’s God, the Lord, was with him.)

God is known in Judah. His name is great in Israel.

His government and peace will have unlimited growth. He will establish David’s throne and kingdom. He will uphold it with justice and righteousness now and forever. The Lord of Armies is determined to do this!

People see false visions about you and prophesy lies about you. The sword will be placed on the necks of dishonest, wicked people, for whom the time of final punishment has come.

The total for the tribe of Judah was 74,600.

With their flag in front, the armies led by Judah’s descendants broke camp first. Nahshon, son of Amminadab, was in command.

The families descended from Judah were the family of Shelah, the family of Perez, and the family of Zerah.

These were the families of Judah. The total number of men was 76,500.

This is what he said about the tribe of Judah: “Hear the cry of Judah, O Lord, and bring them to their people. They must defend themselves. Help them against their enemies.”

Since that time, he has been waiting for his enemies to be made his footstool.

Everyone knows that our Lord came from the tribe of Judah. Moses never said anything about priests coming from that tribe.

When they brought them to Joshua, he called for all the men of Israel. He told the officers who had gone with him, “Come forward and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So that’s what they did.

This is the land inherited by the families of the tribe of Judah.

When the seventh angel blew his trumpet, there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will rule as king forever and ever.”

Then one of the leaders said to me, “Stop crying! The Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has won the victory. He can open the scroll and the seven seals on it.”

The men of Israel went to Bethel. They asked God, “Who will go first to fight Benjamin?” The Lord answered, “Judah will go first.”
