He named the second son Ephraim [Blessed Twice With Children], because God gave him children in the land where he had suffered.

Joseph had two sons who were born in Egypt. The grand total of people in Jacob’s household who went to Egypt was 70.

Blessed are all who fear the Lord and live his way.

Your wife will be like a fruitful vine inside your home. Your children will be like young olive trees around your table.

Its shade covered the mountains. Its branches covered the mighty cedars.

Its branches were strong. They were used to make scepters for kings. It grew to be tall with many branches around it, and everyone saw it because of its many branches.

The people of Ephraim have become important among their relatives. However, the Lord’s scorching wind will come from the east. It will blow out of the desert. Then their springs will run dry, and their wells will dry up. The wind will destroy every precious thing in their storehouses.
