Genesis 48:9

God's Word

“They are my sons, whom God has given me here in Egypt,” Joseph answered his father. Then Israel said, “Please bring them to me so that I may bless them.”

I am here with the children that the Lord has given me. We are signs and symbols in Israel from the Lord of Armies, who lives on Mount Zion.

Moses, the man of God, blessed the Israelites with this blessing before he died.

While Jacob was dying, faith led him to bless each of Joseph’s sons. He leaned on the top of his staff and worshiped God.

Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel [God Hears], because she said, “I asked the Lord for him.”

I prayed for this child, and the Lord granted my request.
