But Israel crossed his hands and reached out. He put his right hand on Ephraim’s head, although Ephraim was the younger son. He put his left hand on Manasseh’s head, although Manasseh was older.

Joseph named his firstborn son Manasseh [He Helps Me Forget], because God helped him forget all his troubles and all about his father’s family.

He named the second son Ephraim [Blessed Twice With Children], because God gave him children in the land where he had suffered.

In Egypt, Manasseh and Ephraim were born to Joseph by Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest from the city of On.

Then Joseph took both of them, Ephraim on his right, facing Israel’s left, and Manasseh on his left, facing Israel’s right, and brought them close to him.

When Joseph saw that his father had put his right hand on Ephraim’s head, he didn’t like it. So he took his father’s hand in order to move it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s.

Then he said to his father, “That’s not right, Father! This is the firstborn. Put your right hand on his head.”

The Lord said to my Lord, “Take the honored position—the one next to me [God the Father] on the heavenly throne until I put your enemies under your control.”

The right hand of the Lord is held high. The right hand of the Lord displays strength.

Your right hand, O Lord, wins glory because it is strong. Your right hand, O Lord, smashes your enemies.

“On the west side the armies led by Ephraim will camp under their flag. The leader for the people of Ephraim is Elishama, son of Ammihud.

Then bring the Levites into the Lord’s presence, and the Israelites will place their hands on them.

So I have taken the Levites as substitutes for all the firstborn sons of the Israelites.

You are Peter, and I can guarantee that on this rock  I will build my church. And the gates of hell will not overpower it.

Then some people brought little children to Jesus to have him bless them and pray for them. But the disciples told the people not to do that.

After Jesus blessed them, he went away from there.

“When you pray, don’t be like hypocrites. They like to stand in synagogues and on street corners to pray so that everyone can see them. I can guarantee this truth: That will be their only reward.

He placed his hands on her, and she immediately stood up straight and praised God.

When the sun was setting, everyone who had friends suffering from various diseases brought them to him. He placed his hands on each of them and cured them.

The disciples had these men stand in front of the apostles, who prayed and placed their hands on these seven men.

Joshua, son of Nun, was filled with the Spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands on him. The Israelites obeyed him and did what the Lord had commanded through Moses.

Don’t neglect the gift which you received through prophecy when the spiritual leaders  placed their hands on you ⌞to ordain you⌟.

Don’t be in a hurry to place your hands on anyone ⌞to ordain him⌟. Don’t participate in the sins of others. Keep yourself morally pure.
