Leah’s slave Zilpah gave birth to her second son for Jacob.
Leah said, “I’ve been lucky!” So she called him Gad [Luck].
Leah said, “I’ve been blessed! Women will call me blessed.” So she named him Asher [Blessing].
Asher will have one part of the land and border Dan on the south. It will extend from the eastern border to the western border.
The roster of families and households for the descendants of Asher listed the men by name who were at least 20 years old and eligible for military duty.
