But you must never eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil because when you eat from it, you will certainly die.”

The Lord God made all the trees grow out of the ground. These trees were nice to look at, and their fruit was good to eat. The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil grew in the middle of the garden.

He answered, “I heard you in the garden. I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.”

Then the Lord God said, “The man has become like one of us, since he knows good and evil. He must not reach out and take the fruit from the tree of life and eat. Then he would live forever.”

Then their eyes were opened, and they both realized that they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together and made clothes for themselves.

So the king of Israel called 400 prophets together. He asked them, “Should I go to war against Ramoth in Gilead or not?” “Go,” they said. “The Lord  will hand over Ramoth to you.”

Don’t let Hezekiah deceive you or persuade you like this. Don’t believe him. No god of any nation or kingdom could save his people from me or my ancestors. Certainly, your God will not rescue you from me!”

“Never use the name of the Lord your God carelessly. The Lord will make sure that anyone who carelessly uses his name will be punished.

Pharaoh asked, “Who is the Lord? Why should I obey him and let Israel go? I don’t know the Lord, and I won’t let Israel go.”

I’ll go above the top of the clouds. I’ll be like the Most High.”

You have discouraged righteous people with your lies, even though I hadn’t brought them any grief. You encouraged wicked people not to turn from their wicked ways to save their lives.

“Son of man, sing a funeral song for the ruler of Tyre. Tell him, ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: You were the perfect example, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

“Son of man, tell the ruler of Tyre, ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: In your arrogance you say, “I’m a god. I sit on God’s throne in the sea.” But you’re only human and not a god, although you think you are a god.

You will no longer say that you are a god when you face those who kill you. You will be a human, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.

Tell him, ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: I’m against you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt. You are like a monster crocodile lying in the Nile River. You say, “The Nile River is mine. I made it for myself.”

The king thought, “Look how great Babylon is! I built the royal palace by my own impressive power and for my glorious honor.”

All the officials, governors, satraps, advisers, and mayors agree that the king should make a statute and enforce a decree. The decree should state that for the next 30 days whoever asks for anything from any god or person except you, Your Majesty, will be thrown into a lions’ den.

But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light in you is darkness, how dark it will be!

You will open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from Satan’s control to God’s. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and a share among God’s people who are made holy by believing in me.’

However, I’m afraid that as the snake deceived Eve by its tricks, so your minds may somehow be lured away from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

The god of this world has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. As a result, they don’t see the light of the Good News about Christ’s glory. It is Christ who is God’s image.

He opposes every so-called god or anything that is worshiped and places himself above them, sitting in God’s temple and claiming to be God.

It deceives those living on earth with the signs that it is allowed to do in front of the ⌞first⌟ beast. It tells those living on earth to make a statue for the beast who was wounded by a sword and yet lived.

They worshiped the serpent because it had given authority to the beast. They also worshiped the beast and said, “Who is like the beast? Who can fight a war with it?”

The Lord left them to teach Israel’s descendants about war, at least those who had known nothing about it in the past.
