He went over and gave him a kiss. When Isaac smelled his clothes, he blessed him and said, “The smell of my son is like the smell of open country that the Lord has blessed.

God blesses the earth. So rain often falls on it, and it produces useful crops for farmers.

You drench plowed fields ⌞with rain⌟ and level their clumps of soil. You soften them with showers and bless what grows in them.

Isaac planted ⌞crops⌟ in that land. In that same year he harvested a hundred times as much as he had planted because the Lord had blessed him.

Faith led Isaac to bless Jacob and Esau.

The green figs ripen. The grapevines bloom and give off a fragrance. Get up, my true love, my beautiful one, and come with me.

Then Rebekah took her older son Esau’s good clothes, which she had in the house, and put them on her younger son Jacob.

Then his father Isaac said to him, “Come here and give me a kiss, Son.”

Israel’s eyesight was failing because of old age, and he could hardly see. So Joseph brought his sons close to his father, and Israel hugged them and kissed them.

About the tribes of Joseph he said, “May the Lord bless their land with ⌞water,⌟ the best gift heaven can send, with dew and deep springs below the ground.

His father Isaac answered him, “The place where you live will lack the fertile fields of the earth and the dew from the sky above.

Then Jacob blessed Joseph, “May God, in whose presence my grandfather Abraham and my father Isaac walked, may God, who has been my shepherd all my life to this very day,
