Joseph’s master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made everything he did successful.

The descendants of those who oppress you will bow in front of you. All who despise you will bow at your feet. They will call you the city of the Lord, Zion, the city of the Holy One of Israel.

You will be called the priests of the Lord. You will be called the servants of our God. You will consume the wealth of the nations. You will boast in their splendor.

Then their offspring will be known among the nations and their descendants among the people. Everyone who sees them will recognize that they are the descendants whom the Lord has blessed.

What can we say about all of this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

The secrets in their hearts will become known, and in this way they will quickly bow with their faces touching the ground, worship God, and confess that God is truly among you.

Don’t love money. Be happy with what you have because God has said, “I will never abandon you or leave you.”

When people take oaths, they base their oaths on someone greater than themselves. Their oaths guarantee what they say and end all arguments.

Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to honor you in front of all the people of Israel. I will do this to let them know that I am with you just as I was with Moses.

King Nahash of Ammon was severely oppressing the tribes of Gad and Reuben. He would poke out everyone’s right eye and allow no one to rescue Israel. However, seven thousand men had escaped from the Ammonites and gone to Jabesh Gilead. About a month later  Nahash the Ammonite blockaded Jabesh Gilead. All the men of Jabesh said to Nahash, “Make a treaty with us, and we’ll serve you.”

Saul realized that the Lord was with David and that his daughter Michal loved David.
