Genesis 26:24

God's Word

That night the Lord appeared to Isaac, and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham. Don’t be afraid, because I am with you. I will bless you and increase the number of your descendants for my servant Abraham’s sake.”

I will also give you as many descendants as the dust of the earth. If anyone could count the dust of the earth, then he could also count your descendants.

Later the Lord spoke his word to Abram in a vision. He said, “Abram, don’t be afraid. I am your shield. Your reward will be very great.”

I will make my promise to you and your descendants for generations to come as an everlasting promise. I will be your God and the God of your descendants.

I am also giving this land where you are living—all of Canaan—to you and your descendants as your permanent possession. And I will be your God.”

God heard the boy crying, and the Messenger of God called to Hagar from heaven. “What’s the matter, Hagar?” he asked her. “Don’t be afraid! God has heard the boy crying from the bushes.

I will certainly bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and the grains of sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of their enemies’ cities.

Then Abraham returned to his servants, and together they left for Beersheba. Abraham remained in Beersheba.

Then he prayed, “Lord, God of my master Abraham, make me successful today. Show your kindness to Abraham.

The Lord was standing above it, saying, “I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give the land on which you are lying to you and your descendants.

Remember, I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. I will also bring you back to this land because I will not leave you until I do what I’ve promised you.”

May God Almighty bless you, make you fertile, and increase the number of your descendants so that you will become a community of people.

Laban replied, “Listen to me. I’ve learned from the signs I’ve seen that the Lord has blessed me because of you.”

He said to them, “I have seen that your father isn’t as friendly to me as he was before, but the God of my father has been with me.

The Lord was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. He worked in the house of his Egyptian master.

Joseph’s master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made everything he did successful.

Israel moved with all he had. When he came to Beersheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

Then Elijah told her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home, and do as you’ve said. But first make a small loaf and bring it to me. Then prepare something for yourself and your son.

Moses answered the people, “Don’t be afraid! Stand still, and see what the Lord will do to save you today. You will never see these Egyptians again.

I am the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

Look! God is my Savior. I am confident and unafraid, because the Lord is my strength and my song. He is my Savior.”

Don’t be afraid, because I am with you. Don’t be intimidated; I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will support you with my victorious right hand.

The Lord made you, formed you in the womb, and will help you. This is what the Lord says: Don’t be afraid, my servant Jacob, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

I alone am the one who comforts you. Why, then, are you afraid of mortals, who must die, of humans, who are like grass?

Listen to me, you people who know righteousness, you people who have my teachings in your hearts. Don’t be afraid of being insulted by people. Don’t be discouraged by their ridicule.

Be close at hand when I call to you. You told me not to be afraid.

I will remember my promise to Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham. I will also remember the land.

But for their sake, I will remember the promise to their ancestors. I brought them out of Egypt to be their God while nations looked on. I am the Lord.”

‘I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ He’s not the God of the dead but of the living.”

Don’t be afraid, little flock. Your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.

‘I am the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses began to tremble and didn’t dare to look at the bush.

Don’t ever take any of the things claimed for destruction. Then the Lord will stop being angry and will show you mercy. In his mercy he will make your population increase, as he swore to your ancestors.

Be strong and courageous. Don’t tremble! Don’t be afraid of them! The Lord your God is the one who is going with you. He won’t abandon you or leave you.”

Instead, these men were longing for a better country—a heavenly country. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God. He has prepared a city for them.

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can mortals do to me?”

When I saw him, I fell down at his feet like a dead man. Then he laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the first and the last,

Don’t be afraid, my daughter. I will do whatever you say. The whole town knows that you are a woman who has strength of character.
