“I’m a stranger with no permanent home. Let me have some of your property for a tomb so that I can bury my dead wife.”

No matter how long he would have lived, it ⌞still⌟ would have been better for him to have been born dead.

“Land must never be sold permanently, because the land is mine. To me you are strangers without permanent homes.

They were taken to Shechem for burial in the tomb that Abraham purchased in Shechem from Hamor’s sons.

“Yet, God didn’t give Abraham anything in this land to call his own, not even a place to rest his feet. But God promised to give this land to him and to his descendants, even though Abraham didn’t have a child.

Faith led Abraham to live as a foreigner in the country that God had promised him. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who received the same promise from God.

Dear friends, since you are foreigners and temporary residents ⌞in the world⌟, I’m encouraging you to keep away from the desires of your corrupt nature. These desires constantly attack you.
