When the Lord finished speaking to Abraham, he left. Abraham returned home.
From there the men turned and went on toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing in front of the Lord.
Then the man said, “Let me go; it’s almost dawn.” But Jacob answered, “I won’t let you go until you bless me.”
Early the next morning Laban kissed his grandchildren and his daughters and blessed them. Then Laban left and went back home.
Then the men got up to leave. As Abraham was walking with them to see them off, they looked toward Sodom.
In the cool of the evening, the man and his wife heard the Lord God walking around in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees in the garden.
When God finished speaking with Abraham, he left him.
Then God went up from him at the place where he had spoken with him.
The Lord was angry with them, so he left.
As Jacob went on his way, God’s angels met him.
