Sarai, Abram’s wife, was not able to have children. She owned an Egyptian slave named Hagar.

Sarai was not able to have children.

Everything went well for Abram because of her, and he was given sheep, cattle, donkeys, male and female slaves, and camels.

the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.”

But God said to Abraham, “Don’t be upset about the boy and your slave. Listen to what Sarah says because through Isaac your descendants will carry on your name.

He lived in the desert of Paran, and his mother got him a wife from Egypt.

Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.

“Elizabeth, your relative, is six months pregnant with a son in her old age. People said she couldn’t have a child.

Yet, they never had any children because Elizabeth couldn’t become pregnant. Both of them were too old to have children.

I’m going to use these historical events as an illustration. The women illustrate two arrangements. The one woman, Hagar, is the arrangement made on Mount Sinai. Her children are born into slavery.

There was a man from Zorah named Manoah. Manoah was from the family of Dan. His wife was not able to have children.

He would also give one portion to Hannah because he loved her, even though the Lord had kept her from having children.
