When I heard this, I sat down and cried. I mourned for days. I continued to fast and pray to the God of heaven.

Joshua and the leaders of Israel tore their clothes in grief. They put dust on their heads and bowed down to the ground in front of the Lord’s ark. They stayed there until evening.

“You should never mourn by shaving bald spots on your heads, shaving the edges of your beards, or slashing your bodies.

Then David grabbed his own clothes and tore them in grief. All the men with him did the same.

I am burning with anger because of wicked people, who abandon your teachings.
