People couldn’t see each other, and no one went anywhere for three days. But all the Israelites had light where they were living.

But the blood on your houses will be a sign for your protection. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. Nothing will touch or destroy you when I strike Egypt.

So the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the hand of God!” Yet, Pharaoh continued to be stubborn and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, as the Lord had predicted.

But on that day I will treat the region of Goshen differently. That is where my people live. There won’t be any flies there. This way you will know that I, the Lord, am here in this land.

The only place it didn’t hail was the region of Goshen, where the Israelites lived.

The Lord set a definite time. He said, “Tomorrow I will do this.”

The next day the Lord did as he said. All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but none of the Israelites’ animals died.

I stopped the rain from falling three months before the harvest. I sent rain on one city and not on another. One field had rain. Another field had none and dried up.

Then you will again see the difference between righteous people and wicked people, between the one who serves God and the one who doesn’t serve him.
