Moses replied, “As soon as I’m out of the city, I’ll spread out my hands to the Lord in prayer. The thunder will stop, and there will be no more hail. This is how you will know that the earth belongs to the Lord.

In the presence of the entire assembly of Israel, Solomon stood in front of the Lord’s altar. He stretched out his hands toward heaven

⌞hear⌟ every prayer for mercy, made by one person or by all the people in Israel, whose consciences bother them, who stretch out their hands toward this temple.

At the evening sacrifice I got up from my misery, and with my clothes torn, I knelt down, stretched out my hands to the Lord my God in prayer,

“If you want to set your heart right, then pray to him.

The Lord does whatever he wants in heaven or on earth, on the seas or in all the depths of the oceans.

I stretch out my hands to you in prayer. Like parched land, my soul thirsts for you. Selah

If I were hungry, I would not tell you, because the world and all that it contains are mine.

If you carefully obey me and are faithful to the terms of my promise, then out of all the nations you will be my own special possession, even though the whole world is mine.

In six days the Lord made heaven, earth, and the sea, along with everything in them. He didn’t work on the seventh day. That’s why the Lord blessed the day he stopped his work and set this day apart as holy.

But on that day I will treat the region of Goshen differently. That is where my people live. There won’t be any flies there. This way you will know that I, the Lord, am here in this land.

So Aaron held his staff over the waters of Egypt. The frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.

As soon as he left Pharaoh and went out of the city, Moses spread out his hands to the Lord in prayer. The thunder and the hail stopped, and no more rain came pouring down on the ground.

So when you stretch out your hands ⌞in prayer⌟, I will turn my eyes away from you. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen because your hands are covered with blood.

Certainly, “The earth is the Lord’s and everything it contains is his.”

However, if someone says to you, “This was sacrificed to a god,” don’t eat it because of the one who informed you and because of conscience.

Remember that the sky, the highest heaven, the earth and everything it contains belong to the Lord your God.
