Now I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians hold in slavery, and I have remembered my promise.

God heard their groaning, and he remembered his promise  to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

In all their troubles he was troubled, and he was the Messenger who saved them. In his love and compassion he reclaimed them. He always held them and carried them in the past.

He has shown his mercy to our ancestors and remembered his holy promise,

“He remembered to help his servant Israel forever.

He always remembers his promise, the word that he commanded for a thousand generations,

The Lord said, “I have seen the misery of my people in Egypt, and I have heard them crying out because of the slave drivers. I know how much they’re suffering.

Then I will remember my promise to you and every living animal. Never again will water become a flood to destroy all life.

God remembered Noah and all the wild and domestic animals with him in the ship. So God made a wind blow over the earth, and the water started to go down.

After a long time passed, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites still groaned because they were slaves. So they cried out, and their cries for help went up to God.

The king of Egypt said to them, “Moses and Aaron, why are you distracting the people from their work? Get back to work!”
