The servant had the camels kneel down outside the city by the well. It was evening, when the women would go out to draw water.

Keturah gave birth to these sons of Abraham: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.

The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. These were the descendants of Keturah.

He looked around, and out in a field he saw a well with a large stone over the opening. Three flocks of sheep were lying down near it, because the flocks were watered from that well.

They left Midian and went to Paran. Taking some men from Paran with them, they went to Pharaoh (the king of Egypt). Pharaoh gave Hadad a home, a food allowance, and land.

The name of the other was Eliezer [My God Is a Helper], because he said, “My father’s God was my helper. He saved me from Pharaoh’s death sentence.”

Now, the Lord had said to Moses in Midian, “Go back to Egypt, because all the men who wanted to kill you are dead.”

Sensible people foresee trouble and hide ⌞from it⌟, but gullible people go ahead and suffer ⌞the consequence⌟.

I see trouble in the tents of Cushan. I see trembling in the tents of Midian.

So when they persecute you in one city, flee to another. I can guarantee this truth: Before you have gone through every city in Israel, the Son of Man will come.

Jacob’s Well was there. Jesus sat down by the well because he was tired from traveling. The time was about noon.

After he said that, Moses quickly left Egypt and lived in Midian as a foreigner. In Midian he fathered two sons.

Faith led Moses to leave Egypt without being afraid of the king’s anger. Moses didn’t give up but continued as if he could actually see the invisible God.
