God's Word

The name of the other was Eliezer [My God Is a Helper], because he said, “My father’s God was my helper. He saved me from Pharaoh’s death sentence.”

Moses’ sons were Gershom and Eliezer.

I went to the Lord for help. He answered me and rescued me from all my fears.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.

Pharaoh said to Moses, “Get out of my sight! Don’t ever let me see your face again. The day I do, you will die.”

When Pharaoh heard what Moses had done, he tried to have him killed. But Moses fled from Pharaoh and settled in the land of Midian. One day, while Moses was sitting by a well,

So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey, and started out for Egypt. He also brought with him the staff God had told him to take.

My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths so that they couldn’t hurt me. He did this because he considered me innocent. Your Majesty, I haven’t committed any crime.”

When Peter came to his senses, he said, “Now I’m sure that the Lord sent his angel to rescue me from Herod and from everything the Jewish people are expecting to happen to me.”

After he said that, Moses quickly left Egypt and lived in Midian as a foreigner. In Midian he fathered two sons.

However, the Lord stood by me and gave me strength so that I could finish spreading the Good News for all the nations to hear. I was snatched out of a lion’s mouth.

put out raging fires, and escaped death. They found strength when they were weak. They were powerful in battle and defeated other armies.

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can mortals do to me?”
