He made the wheels of their chariots come off so that they could hardly move. Then the Egyptians shouted, “Let’s get out of here! The Lord is fighting for Israel! He’s against us!”

The fear of the Lord came over the kingdoms in that area when they heard how the Lord waged war against Israel’s enemies.

I looked them over and proceeded to tell the nobles, the leaders, and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of our enemies. Remember how great and awe-inspiring the Lord is. Fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.”

When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence. They realized we had done this work with the help of our God.

You divided the sea in front of them so that they could walk through the sea on dry ground. You threw into deep water those who pursued your people as someone throws a stone into raging water.

But the wicked will lose their eyesight. Their escape route will be closed. Their only hope is to take their last breath.”

If that person flees from an iron weapon, a bronze bow will pierce him.

It hurls itself at him without mercy. He flees from its power.

O Lord, attack those who attack me. Fight against those who fight against me.

He puts an end to wars all over the earth. He breaks an archer’s bow. He cuts spears in two. He burns chariots.

The Lord is fighting for you! So be still!”

The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I am honored for what I did to Pharaoh, his chariots, and his cavalry.”

Their rock isn’t like our rock. Even our enemies will agree with this.

Never before or after this day was there anything like it. The Lord did what a man told him to do, because the Lord fought for Israel.

The Lord threw Sisera, all his chariots, and his whole army into a panic in front of Barak’s deadly assault. Sisera got down from his chariot and fled on foot.
