Exodus 12:22

Take the branch of a hyssop plant, dip it in the blood which is in a bowl, and put some of the blood on the top and sides of the doorframes ⌞of your houses⌟. No one may leave the house until morning.

Purify me from sin with hyssop, and I will be clean. Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

They must take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they will eat the animals.

My people, go to your rooms, and shut the doors behind you. Hide for a little while until his fury has ended.

A person who is clean will take a sprig of hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle the tent, all the furnishings, and all the people who were in the tent ⌞with the dead body⌟. He must also sprinkle any person who has touched a human bone or a grave and any person who has touched someone who has been killed or who has died naturally.

After they sang a hymn, they went to the Mount of Olives.

Faith led Moses to establish the Passover and spread the blood ⌞on the doorposts⌟ so that the destroying angel would not kill the firstborn sons.

You have come to Jesus, who brings the new promise  from God, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better message than Abel’s.

The first promise had rules for the priests’ service. It also had a holy place on earth.

The blood of Christ, who had no defect, does even more. Through the eternal Spirit he offered himself to God and cleansed our consciences from the useless things we had done. Now we can serve the living God.

As Scripture tells us, Moses told all the people every commandment. Then he took the blood of calves and goats together with some water, red yarn, and hyssop and sprinkled the scroll and all the people.

Whoever leaves your house will be responsible for his own life. We will be free from that responsibility. But we will take responsibility if anyone inside your house is harmed.

God the Father knew you long ago and chose you to live holy lives with the Spirit’s help so that you are obedient to Jesus Christ and are sprinkled with his blood. May good will  and peace fill your lives!
